PS Portal: The last update broke everything, Sony gives solutions to the problems

After its massive April update, the PS Portal is for some victim of a major problem, here is how to correct it while waiting for a more lasting solution.

Last month, the PS Portal went into version 5.0.0 thanks to a major update in more than one title. This added a whole bunch of features such as sorting its games, gameplay capture, the queue while waiting for streaming servers to get offering, or the possibility of pause the gameplay during a session. Following this important update, several players, however, faced a particularly embarrassing problem on Sony’s device. While waiting for a good form, the PlayStation support has split a temporary solution to remedy it quickly and efficiently.

Return to the PS Portal with a temporary support solution

For the past month, some users of the PS Portal have indeed reported to the PlayStation support that their device seems to encounter connection problems with their Ps5. Even if it would not be an extremely common problem, these are not a few isolated cases, which therefore make the device perfectly unusable. Thus, while waiting for a more permanent fix, here is the solution recommended by the PlayStation support to bypass the PS5 PS5 connectivity problem:

  • Extinguish the PS5.
  • Press and hold the power button For a few seconds, and Release once you hear the second “beep”.
  • Connect a dualsense controller from the PS5 by USB cableThen Press the PS button joystick To enter the SAFE MODE.
  • Select the “reconstruct the database” option, then “clean the cache”. The PS5 will restart.
  • Redo the previous stepsThen This time select the option “Restore the default settings”.

By cleaning the PS5 cache and in the default settings, the PS Portal should no longer encounter problems with the console. It should also be noted that this does not cause data loss for your PS5. However, it will probably be necessary to redo some personalized settings applied to its system itself. If however the problem of connectivity of the PS Portal exists, you can follow the instructions of the PlayStation support relating to this subject on the FAQ Dedicated to the streaming apparatus, also quoted in source below.
