Surprise ! A new PlayStation studio has just been unveiled. Here is everything we know about this freshly created entity which includes veterans of huge games.
Over the past few years, PlayStation has opened and has closed studios. Following the failure of ConcordSony Interactive Entertainment announced the closure of Firewalk Studios. Unfortunately, London Studio (Blood & Truth) also did not escape the cuts of the Japanese company. Besides that, we recently discovered the opening of Dark Outlawa studio born from Games Deviation ashes with Jason Blundell (Call of Duty) at the helm. No information on the title, but it will undoubtedly be a production with a strong multiplayer component to meet the challenge of the manufacturer’s game game strategy. Today, PlayStation makes a surprise announcement that no one had seen coming, and it may disappoint and clearly not to please everyone.
The LFG team incorporates the PlayStation Studios family
Hermen HULST, CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, sent a message on the blog PlayStation official in order to inaugurate the creation of a new studio called Team LFG. “Finding its origin at Bungie, TeamLFG has rallyed developers from the whole sector to give life to an ambitious project that I look forward to” he said. The LFG means “Looking for Group” to testify to the Service Games orientation of this newly created PlayStation studio.
“We are driven by our desire to create games in which players will be able to forge links, find a community and experience a real feeling of belonging. We want our players to be looking forward to connecting to find their game partners already online ». TeamLFG is therefore intended to create immersive multiplayer worlds in which players can get lost in the long term.
First information on a new PS5 game … or PS6?
For the time being, we do not know if TeamLFG is working on an unprecedented exclusivity PlayStation 5, or if the studio will wait for the PS6. On the other hand, we already have details on the nature of this future game. « Our first game is an action game in a team that draws its inspiration from combat games, platform games, MOBA, life simulators and other games featuring amphibians. The players will evolve in a light world overflowing with humor, mixing myths, science fiction and fantasy. We look forward to revealing you more ». A game that therefore risks disappointing those who expected a solo experience a lot.
