No one expected her, and yet she arrives. We are of course talking about the new adaptation on the side of Ubisoft, taken from a game that we would never have thought of.
The waltz of adaptations continues, and the least we can say is that this one, we had not seen it coming. Of Tomb Raider has God of Warpassing by Silent Hill, Split Fiction, Resident Evil or Clear obscure: Expedition 33many projects are currently in preparation behind the scenes. And their common point, you can imagine, is that these are successful games whose narrative component is important. This is what makes the latest adaptation advertisement, signed Ubisoft, as strange as it is unexpected.
Riders Republic arrives at the cinema
Because indeed, as we learned from the Deadline media, the French publisher is currently working on an inspired film project … Riders Republic. Developed and produced by Gaumont and Ubisoft Film & Television, it would thus aim to adapt the extreme sports game developed by Ubisoft Annecy in 2021, which placed the player in the shoes of a rider responsible for becoming the best in his category. All terrain, skiing, snowboarding, wingsuit bikes, there were many disciplines.
Suffice to say, therefore, that it is not necessarily the kind of experience that we expected to find in the cinema. But it is however the challenge that Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah will have to take up, especially known for their work on the franchise Bad Boystaking the lead in the realization of the project. Noah Debré, who has recently been able to see at work on films like Stillwater, Dheeepan or The world is yourswill take care of adapting the script for Ubisoft’s game on the big screen.
An adaptation among many others at Ubisoft
Although little information is available at this stage, Deadline indicates that the adaptation of republics riders “Will capture the action [du jeu]with humor and spectacular waterfalls on the snowy slopes of the Alps ”. We will see where all this leads us. In the meantime, let us recall that Aubisoft is also working on the adaptation of many other licenses. We know for example that a series of animation Splinter Cell will arrive on Netflix later this year, and that it will be followed by multiple projects in the colors of Far Cry, Watch Dogs or Assassin’s Creed.
