Available for two days on PC, Dune Awakening will also arrive on consoles in the future. Nevertheless, the PS5 and Xbox Series players will have to wait a bit before they can take advantage of it.
After having met a real success in the cinema in recent years, the time has now come to Dune to conquer video games. Longtime teased by Funcom, Dune Awakeningthe MMO survival taking place in the universe imagined by Frank Herbert, is today finally available on PC since June 10. And the good news is that console players will also be able to enjoy it too! The bad, on the other hand, is that we will have to continue to take her pain in patience for the moment.
Dune Awakening will arrive on consoles in 2026
Indeed, the creators of the game confirmed it on the occasion of its recent outing, Dune Awakening will not be available on consoles before 2026. PS5 and Xbox Series players will have to wait another six good months before being able to join the adventure, if Funcom decides to take it out from the start of the year. Because at this stage, the studio was simply satisfied with a “current 2026” wave, which therefore does not exclude a more or less late outing in the calendar of next year.
The good side of things, however, is that this period should ultimately allow console players to enjoy an enriched version of Dune Awakening. Because as announced by Funcom, the title is led to receive many additional post-launch content, content which could therefore potentially be found directly included in the PS5 and Xbox Series version. We then speak of four waves of DLC, the first of which, Wildlife of Arrakis, is already available, while the other three will arrive at the end of 2025, early 2026 and mid-2026.
A successful launch for the MMO Survival
And that is without counting all the free updates which are also on the program for Dune Awakening which, without being a service gammed with microtransactions, promises a long -term experience to its audience. Moreover, unlike a certain MindsEye Released the same day, the title seems to be a launch under the sign of success. This is in any case what can be deduced from more than 16,500 user assessments published on Steam, which then display a globally “very positive” experience.
