It’s official, after six years of good and loyal service, the PSVR 2 must say goodbye to one of the best titles available in its catalog.
You may have already forgotten it, but at PlayStation, we also give in the VR. It must be said that it is sometimes difficult to remember it anyway the manufacturer itself is content to provide minimum service for its PSVR 2yet sold at a rate of € 449.99. Fortunately, this still does not prevent certain studios from offering very popular experiences on the part of virtual reality lovers, like the excellent Beat Saber. A game which, unfortunately, arrives today at the end of the race.
PSVR 2 farewell to one of its best games
Indeed, in a press release published on its official website, Beat Games announced that the follow -up of Beat Saber had now ended on PS4 as on PS5. In fact, no updates will be offered from this month in June 2025. “Our passion for VR remains unshakable” specifies the studio, however. “We are delighted with the possibilities available to us and what we can bring to Beat Saber fans who have followed this trip with us in the past seven years”.
But then, what does that mean for PS VR and PSVR 2 players? We reassure you right away: no, the game is not doomed to disappear. The title like all the content that accompanied it will remain accessible, both for those who have already bought them and for those who would like to embark on the adventure in the future. On the other hand, Beat Games specifies that the days of Beat Saber multiplayer are now counted, since the online features of the latter will cease definitively from January 21, 2026.
A temporary goodbye for the license?
It is therefore officially a page that turns for the studio, which does not fail to thank the players for their support during all these years. “We are grateful to the incredible support that you have given us over the years, and we are impatient to share what the future reserves for Beat Saber”. Could this be the confirmation that Beat Games has not yet finished with the license? It looks like. As for knowing whether it will come back to PSVR 2 or elsewhere, it will be necessary to wait to discover it.
