The PS5 deploys a free novelty that will appeal to many players

It is totally by surprise that the PS5 has just deployed a free novelty which should clearly appeal to a lot of players, especially to fans of monsters.

No visible update, no official announcement … and yet something has changed on your Ps5. If you have your eye, you may have already noticed a new visual element that does not go unnoticed. A nice surprise that may have a little effect.

Free novelty on your PS5

It is by sailing in the Welcome Hub From the PS5 that some players discovered a new animated theme. This is a high definition illustration inspired by Monster Hunter Wildswith neat and fluid animation. The atmosphere is successful, the rendering very clean, and on a good 4K screen, it is frankly impressive. If you do not yet see the theme appear, don’t worry. As often with this kind of updates, Sony proceeds to a progressive deployment. It should therefore appear automatically in the coming days.

Even if this kind of small addition is always welcome, it should not be forgotten that it only applies to a single section of the interface: the Welcome Hub. The rest of the PS5 menu remains frozen, without real personalization possible. The most nostalgic players still remember the Dynamic themes of the PS4where the whole menu came to life with music, animations, even sound effects. Today, these options have completely disappeared on PS5. And despite regular requests from the community, Sony seems to remain deaf to these expectations.

A little addition that relaunches a real debate

This animated theme Monster Hunter Wilds is therefore nice to see, but it once again revives the debate on the Personalization of the PS5 interface. Many would like to be able to modify the overall appearance of their console, not just an isolated small section. Admittedly, it is possible to add your own screenshots to the Welcome Hub, but it remains limited. And at this stage of the generation, it becomes unlikely that Sony will change course.

Maybe the PS6 will take these feedback into account. More and more players are asking for more freedom in the interface, especially to express their style or enhance their favorite games.
