Nintendo Switch 2: The next free games for subscribers have leaké, it’s legendary

The next free games for subscribers leaked for the Nintendo Switch 2, and clearly, there are simply legendary titles in the lot. Here’s what we know.

A simple technical video, a few seconds of a blurred screen … and now the community may have got hold of the next games N64 from Nintendo Switch 2. Thanks to a sharp eye and a good blur filter, several fans think they have discovered an unexpected leak in Nintendo’s last official video. And there is something to excite nostalgic.

A Nintendo Switch 2 discovery hidden in the blur

Everything starts from a video published by Nintendo a few weeks ago. It presented the new options of the N64 emulator on Nintendo Switch 2, such as the CRT filter or the repayment function. Nothing extraordinary… except that in the 39th second, a menu appears in the background. Blurry, but not enough to go unnoticed.

Several Internet users have analyzed the image. By comparing shapes and colors, they claim to recognize several game jackets that are not yet available in the Switch Online + additional pack subscription. Among them:

  • Super Smash Bros. 64
  • Donkey Kong 64
  • Glover
  • Sufferance
  • And maybe scars

Some jackets are easier to identify than others. Smash 64 and Donkey Kong 64 are obvious. For the others, it’s still a bit vague … literally and figuratively. Heavy for the Nintendo Switch 2.

A credible selection

What makes this leak plausible on Nintendo Switch 2 is that the games spotted do not come out of nowhere. Smash 64 is one of the biggest absent from the current N64 service. Donkey Kong 64, despite his reputation for a “too big, too slow” game, remains a classic claimed by many fans. Even Glover, a strange platform game with a hand as a hero, has its small community.

Forsaken, for his part, is more surprising for the Nintendo Switch 2. This futuristic FPS developed at the time by Acclaim is not a Hit in the mainstream. And he raises an important question: if he is well planned, why does he appear in the “all public” application of the NSO? Its N64 version is normally classified M (equivalent of the PEGI 16/18). It should therefore appear in the app reserved for mature games, alongside Perfect Dark.

Only on Switch 2

Another important point: these games, if they go out, will be exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2. And more specifically to the new N64 application reserved for this console. It is therefore not an update for the classic switch. To play it, you will also have to be subscribed to Additional pack from the Nintendo Switch Online. This paid service already gives access to N64 games, but the Switch 2 benefits from an improved version, with new display options, comfort and, obviously, a richer selection to come.
