Fallout: After 10 years, this beloved free game receives its biggest update

In addition to the return of the series to Prime Video, Bethesda has decided to offer Fallout Shelter its biggest update so far, with a lot of new content.

While the kick-off of the Fallout season 2 has just been launched on Prime Videothe Bethesda franchise has benefited, unsurprisingly, from a vast resurgence of interest in recent days. Indeed, on the occasion of the broadcast of the first episode of the new season, the creators of the series and the games did not hesitate to multiply the interviews, which notably allowed us to glean some information on the highly anticipated Fallout 5. However, it turns out that this is not the only game in the license to have benefited from a nice spotlight recently.

Fallout Shelter receives its biggest update since launch

Without warning, Bethesda took advantage of the opportunity to offer Fallout Shelter on “biggest update yet”at least for the Steam and console versions. Because for those who don’t know, this free-to-play title was originally released on iOS and Android in 2015, before subsequently arriving on more platforms. These versions, however, did not necessarily have the same content as that offered on mobile, which has now been corrected by the developers of Fallout Shelter.

“Years of mobile-only content is now available on Steam, including new characters, quests, weapons, themes and more” indicates Bethesda on the game’s Steam page. And things don’t stop there, since this big update also introduces a new season system, which will be accompanied by limited-time events for all players. “The first season, Vive New Vegas, is inspired by the second season of the Fallout series”we then learn.

“Follow the ‘Rally of Power’ questline with eight sequential quests to complete, and add popular characters from the TV series to your shelter like Lucy, Maximus, the Ghoul and more” we are told on the Fallout Shelter page. Of course, Bethesda also took the opportunity to add numerous shelter themes, outfits and weapons inspired by the show, both from the first and second seasons. And these are just a sample of the new features awaiting players.

Many surprises announced

Because on the program for this first season of Fallout Shelter are also additional residents, weapons and armor, alongside the possibility of embarking on the construction of experimental shelters for a limited time. “Get exclusive rewards to boost the morale of your residents” also indicates the patch notes, which promise a multitude of “fabulous rewards” to unlock, while offering players the opportunity to upgrade their Season Pass to obtain premium rewards.

The icing on the cake, in order to properly celebrate the twenty-fifth anniversary of Fallout, an additional series of six quests has finally appeared. “A search for holiday decorations takes a sinister turn in the ‘Search in the Dark’ questline, featuring six sequential quests, new enemies and more”. In short, you will have understood: now more than ever is the time to relaunch Fallout Shelter, which promises many new adventures to its community.
