Zelda: the next game is officially in the news and it could change you


As The Legend of Zelda slowly approaches its fortieth anniversary, the series producer talks about the next game, which could well surprise the public.

It’s already been two years since The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was released on Nintendo Switch, giving Nintendo’s famous franchise what some consider to be one of its best games to date. Obviously, in light of the release of the Nintendo Switch 2, it is only natural that players begin to wonder about the direction that the series could take in the future. And according to Eiji Aonuma, producer of The Legend of Zelda, the first clues could, in a way, already be before our eyes.

And for good reason, during an interview for the Japanese media 4Gamer, Aonuma revealed that Nintendo had obviously been very inspired by the work carried out by Koei Tecmo on Hyrule Warriors: The Seal Chronicles. A title which, under its appearance of an action game Dynasty Warriorsfait office de spin-off à The Legend of Zelda. « The inspiration we gained from this collaboration with Koei Tecmo could be reflected in the next Zelda we create”then reveals the producer of the franchise on this subject.

« As you play Hyrule Warriors: The Seal Chronicles, we hope you will imagine these possibilities and look forward to our Zelda ». Of course, Aonuma naturally refrains from revealing more about Nintendo’s plans, which undoubtedly still has many years of work in perspective before being able to tell us more about this future opus. Even if, as the producer humorously confides: « To be honest, we wish we were the ones to come out ‘first’ [jeu Zelda sur Nintendo Switch 2] ».

But if they cannot do so, players can in the meantime take advantage of this new Hyrule Warriors, released last month, to wait. Unless you decide to dive back into Breath of the Wild and/or Tears of the Kingdom, which both received a Nintendo Switch 2 version in June. Without forgetting, of course, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of the Wisdomwhich benefited from a slightly more confidential reception upon its release at the end of 2024, but which nevertheless still deserves our attention.
