At this stage of the year, we can say it: 2025 will have been another year without news of the return of Splinter Cellwhose remake has definitely continued to keep a low profile since its announcement. However, as we know, things are moving on the side of Ubisoft Toronto, which recently announced the return of a former emblematic figure within its walls to work on the project. But while waiting to be able to discover more about him, the time has come for Sam Fisher to return to service… via a new collaboration.
Splinter Cell s’invite dans Ghosts of Tabor, un FPS en VR
Indeed, after having been treated to his own adventures in Splinter Cell Deathwatchthe Netflix series broadcast last October, the Ubisoft hero is once again the subject of a crossover with Ghosts of Tabor, where he finds himself at the heart of a DLC available since December 17. Enough to allow players of this virtual reality FPS developed by Combat Waffle Studios to step into the shoes of Sam Fisher, therefore, with the provision of a certain number of equipment directly inspired by Splinter Cell.
“This collaboration is not limited to adding an iconic character to our game”explains Scott Albright, founder of the studio, on LinkedIn. “Splinter Cell defined an entire generation of tactical gameplay, and we’re bringing that legacy to VR. It’s not about following trends. It’s about raising the bar for VR performance. Every time we partner with a major licensee, the goal is the same: to prove that VR deserves the same level of content as the rest of the industry.”he assures.
Currently priced at €11.76 on Steam, the Splinter Cell pack allows Ghosts of Tabor players to obtain new character creation elements in Echelon 3 colors, as well as new weapons such as the FN Five SeveN, the H&K MP7 and the Karambit knife. Of course, Sam Fisher’s iconic night vision goggles are also included. Ghosts of Tabor, which is inspired by games like Escape from Tarkov and DayZ, mixing PvP, PvE and survival, is priced at €14.99 until the beginning of January on Steam, Meta Quest and PS VR2.
