Unveiled earlier this year, Pawprint Studio’s Pokemon-like, Aniimo, will be available again in early 2026 as part of a second closed beta.
When you are a license that is as popular as it is influential, you should not be surprised to inspire more than one. And it’s not Pokemon who will say the opposite, as evidenced by the number of productions inspired by the Game Freak franchise that have seen the light of day over the decades. And while some have not failed to generate a lot of ink, like for example Palworldothers however did not fail to attract the attention of players for the freshness of their proposal. This is particularly the case ofAniimowhich will also very soon allow itself to be approached again.
Aniimo announces new closed beta for early 2026
Announced on the occasion of Xbox Games Showcase last June, this new Pokemon-like from Pawprint Studio intends to immerse players in an open-world action-RPG populated by adorable creatures, which it will be possible to capture to unlock a whole bunch of new abilities. And the least we can say is that the Aniimo universe, Idyll, will not lack these numerous beasts, which may appear depending on the environment, the weather or even the time of day.
Of course, their abilities can then be used to explore the world, or solve puzzles, fight big battles and finally overcome different challenges. All in solo or multiplayer, Aniimo offering a PvPvE mode allowing you to form teams of three players. Does adventure tempt you? This is good, because after a first beta in July, Pawprint announces the arrival of a second closed beta for the beginning of 2026. To try to take part, nothing could be simpler: all you have to do is register on the official website of the game.
Closed beta requires, however, nothing will guarantee you access to Aniimo when the time comes. However, the lucky ones selected will have the chance to enjoy an even more complete experience, improved based on feedback from the first beta. There will also be several additional content, including new Aniimo to capture, new abilities to experiment with, new locations to explore and finally a new competitive game mode, “Operation: Egg Heist”, to try.
The game will arrive free-to-play next year
Naturally, more information will be communicated by the studio on this subject as the closed beta approaches, the exact dates of which remain to be specified for the time being. However, if you are not one of the lucky ones, don’t worry. It’s only a postponement. Aniimo is in fact expected for next year on Xbox Series, PC, iOS and Android, where it will be offered in free-to-play form. You should therefore not have to wait long before being able to test this new Pokemon-like which looks very promising.
