After the huge surprise success of Dispatch, everyone is only waiting for a season 2, and it could arrive sooner than expected, if we are to believe the recent statement from one of the main stakeholders.
With eight episodes released between October 22 and November 12, 2025, Dispatch was a real surprise hit at the end of the year, which completely put the narrative games in episodic format made popular by Telltale Games. A success that his studio does not owe to chance, since it includes veterans of the masters of the genre. On the other hand, they had obviously not anticipated that the first AdHoc game would be the subject of such enormous enthusiasm, to the point that they did not necessarily envisage a saison 2. But recent events and the declaration of one of the studio’s biggest supporters should greatly change the situation.
Critical support for season 2 of Dispatch
Before AdHoc released its very first project called Dispatch, a narrative game with a team management component of super zeros, the studio had notably received the support of Critical Role, the famous American Twitch channel where famous voice actors transmit their role-playing games in universes such as Dungeons & Dragons. This also gave rise to the announcement of a narrative game adapting the world imagined by Matthew Mercer in which the main campaigns of Critical Role, code name Project Exandria.
In AdHoc’s schedule, the development of this Critical Role game was likely to follow that of Dispatch. However, in a recent convention, Travis Willingham, CEO of the famous Twitch channel, declared that “ like everyone, we want to see a season 2 as quickly as possible! We are therefore in discussions with the studio to see if they are capable of doing both, what their priorities are, while engaging in conversations with other partners ».
The CEO of Critical Role therefore suggests that, if it helps the studio, they would prefer to give priority to a season 2 of Dispatch rather than Project Exandria, even if it means entrusting part of the development of the latter to other partners. In any case, it is encouraging to know that, like us, Critical Role is eagerly asking to see Robert and the Z-Team again. Although that probably won’t happen for a while.
