Cyberpunk 2077: this highly anticipated free content already exceeds all expectations

Years after the abandonment of official multiplayer, Cyberpunk 2077 could finally experience a second life online. All thanks to highly anticipated content.

While many thought multiplayer was definitely buried in Cyberpunk 2077a community project is creating a surprise again. The mod CyberMPwhich aims to bring a real multiplayer experience to the game, has just taken a major step forward. Fans have been fantasizing about a real multiplayer mode for several years. Soon a reality?

Cyberpunk 2077 is making people dream with… a mod!

In fact, its last closed test would have far exceeded the expectations of the development team on the Cyberpunk 2077 mod. This last test was not trivial. It was primarily used to validate several technical elements essential to the proper functioning of the mod. It’s easy to imagine the complexity of the thing. In particular, the team wanted to improve synchronization between players and vehicles, test a new in-game interface and check the overall stability of the system under heavy load.

Based on the images shared by the developers, the objectives appear to have been achieved. Movements are fluid, interactions are consistent and, above all, the game holds up even with several players connected simultaneously. A crucial point for a mod of this magnitude.

Multiplayer races already very promising

Among the highlights of the test, a racing event held in Night City particularly attracted attention. The vehicles streak together at full speed through the illuminated streets, with visibly solid synchronization on the customer side. It’s still astonishing when you know how greedy Cyberpunk 2077 is. The result is impressive. The races appear dynamic, readable and above all very fun, suggesting enormous potential for regular community events. A facet of the game that Cyberpunk 2077 had never really been able to exploit until then.

The new test also allowed us to see a PvP event taking place on a large map absent from the original Cyberpunk 2077 game. The clashes seem intense, with several players evolving at the same time in a space designed for multiplayer. Again, everything is not perfect yet. The developers acknowledge that there is still work to refine the balance and correct certain issues. But the base is there, and it already seems very solid.

No public release date has yet been announced. However, given the current progress and the success of this latest closed test, the project clearly seems on the right track. The community is following the development very closely, and enthusiasm grows with each new demonstration.
