The Kyoto company also celebrates Christmas and the end-of-year holidays in its own way by giving nice gifts to Nintendo Switch Online members, generally appreciated by a majority of the community.
During the holiday season, publishers and manufacturers spread the word to give gifts to their players. PlayStation has offered its own Advent calendar, Steam is offering its unmissable sales, while the Epic Games Store is offering a new free game every day until the start of next year. It has become an annual ritual and it’s Big N’s turn to put on his red hat by making his end-of-year gifts to subscribers to the Nintendo Switch Online.
Nintendo Switch Online avatars return for the holidays
The most loyal subscribers know that each end of the year is punctuated by a big catch-up session which turns into a distribution of gifts. Nintendo Switch Online members can find all the avatars they missed throughout the year. Every day, until January 11, 2026, a new game from the 2025 catalog will be in the spotlight with its own set of icons to exchange for platinum points, obtained for free. The festivities started a few days ago and therefore continue with Kirby and the Forgotten World on December 29, 2025, for example. Several other productions then followed such as Kirby AirRiders, Xenoblade Chronicles Donkey Kong Bananzato name just a few. Here is the Nintendo Switch Online avatar distribution schedule:

How to collect these gifts?
Let us also remember that each game returns on two dates, corresponding to two different waves of avatars, each available for a full day. At the same time, daily missions allow you to collect numerous platinum points, necessary to unlock these Nintendo Switch gifts. Each avatar will cost 10 PP, compared to 5 PP for backgrounds and decorative frames.
- Launch your Nintendo Switch 2 or 1
- Click on the Nintendo Switch Online icon
- Click on the “Missions and rewards” section marked by a gift icon
- Move the cursor to the tile with the game of the day
- Click on the avatar you want to recover then click exchange
- Repeat again for each content you want to unlock.
