The next free game from League of Legends has finally made the announcement that all fans have been waiting for. A nice surprise to get 2026 off to a good start.
League of Legends continues to develop successfully in all directions. After the success of its Arcane series on Netflix, the universe expands and is divided into spin-offs. Note for example the collectible card game Riftbound which is already a victim of its success and which will arrive especially in a French version soon, but there is also an ambitious new free game which has just made a highly anticipated announcement.
Upcoming free-to-play League of Legends game makes big announcement
Over the years, League of Legends has already been available several times in different experiences. TFT, the countless number of small games integrated into the launcher for certain events or even Legend of Runeterra, Song of Nunu… other games are currently in development such as the highly anticipated MMORPG whose development is progressing, but also a completely free fighting game 2XKO. The latter has already proven itself numerous times through numerous test phases and it is now preparing to be officially released on all platforms. The new Free to Play drawn from the League of Legends universe will therefore leave its early access status and will therefore arrive in version 1.0 and open to all from January 20, 2026 on consoles and PC.
Far from a MOBA, 2XKO is a fighting game that features the most notable champions of League of Legends, some of whom were also seen in Arcane. For example, we can find Jinx, Ekko, Warwick or even Vi but also Ahri, Darius, Blitzcrank and that damn Teemo to name but a few. As with its MOBA, Riot has big ambitions with this new competitive game. We must expect constant monitoring, free and seasonal content certainly but also an esports scene which should develop like League of Legends and Valuing. 2XKO has so far received very good feedback from the professional scene but also and above all from players. Its success therefore seems already clear, it remains to be seen what the final release will now be recorded at the end of January.
