Sitting alongside the best Souls with Elden Ring, Bloodborne is not only adored by players: it also occupies a very important place in the heart of its creator.
Growing ever more in popularity and success over the years, the Souls genre has truly exploded in the eyes of the general public with Elden Ringwhich more than ever has been the game of consecration for FromSoftware. But beyond this hit with more than 30 million copies sold, if there is one game that is close to the hearts of fans, it is Bloodborne. This is why many continue to hope that a Bloodborne 2 could see the light of day in the future, or at least a remaster of the first game. And if that doesn’t happen, it will definitely remain a crime.
Do you love Bloodborne? You are not the only ones!
And for good reason, not content with occupying a very important place in the hearts of fans, Bloodborne is also a visibly very important work in the eyes of its creator, Hidetaka Miyazaki, for whom it represents something of ” special “. In any case, it is in these terms that he recently spoke about it in the columns of Game Informer, where he notably looked behind the scenes of the production of the game and the role of the latter in his career.
“Bloodborne is also a special game for me. […] For multiple reasons. The first is that this has probably been the most difficult development cycle we’ve ever had from a studio perspective. The second, and perhaps even more important, is the very personal nature that this project had for me insofar as I infused many of my own ideas into it. Whether it be in terms of the story, the construction of the universe, or even the mechanics and game systems that are in place”
Hidetaka Miyazaki, during an interview conducted by Game Informer
This explains why for Miyazaki, Bloodborne undoubtedly represents “the most faithful reflection of his way of enjoying a game”a feeling that he will certainly have succeeded in transmitting to millions of players. And suffice to say that after such a statement, the demand from fans for the idea of having a Bloodborne 2, a remaster, or even a remake of this opus released in 2015 is not likely to weaken any time soon. Although, unfortunately, everything does not depend the FromSoftware.
A new Souls is coming this year
Failing, barring a truly unexpected surprise, to be entitled to Bloodborne 2 in the months or years to come, let us remember that the studio will not arrive empty-handed in 2026. On a date which has yet to be specified, FromSoftware will in fact release a new franchise called The Duskbloodswhose atmosphere is reminiscent of Bloodborne. It just remains to be seen if the project, announced as a PvPvE multiplayer game exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2, will manage to find favor in the eyes of fans like Elden Ring Nightreign.
