Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake is confirmed again thanks to Ubisoft, the announcement arrives

With Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake, it’s all just a question of when. While Ubisoft is still trying to keep the secret, things are going on behind the scenes ahead of a particularly anticipated announcement.

It’s no longer really a secret to anyone. Waiting Assassin’s Creed Hexethe next major episode announced as one of the darkest in the series, Ubisoft is preparing to dive back into the immense catalog of its flagship license. With more than thirty games to its credit, spin-offs included, the French publisher is spoiled for choice. However, his sights would have been on one of the most exotic and popular opus of the saga: Assassin’s Creed Black Flag. For more than a year, rumors around a remake have been accumulating, fueled both by evidence from Ubisoft and by classification bodies. The question is now no longer whether the project exists, but when it will be formalized. If the answer is still awaited, one certainty is still confirmed: the announcement is imminent.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake announced soon?

We were expecting him at the Summer Game Fest, the Game Awards and even the New Game Plus, but still no Edward Kenway on the horizon. The announcement of Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag Remake, however, would seem to be only a matter of weeks, at best. The clues continue to accumulate, starting with the PEGI classification body, which even leaked the official name of the project recently: Resynced. Behind the scenes, Ubisoft seems to be busy with its next major announcements.

The publisher recently updated domain names and sites associated with Prince of Persia The Sands of Time remake and Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake multiple times within 24 hours. An administrative process generally observed in the run-up to a large-scale official communication, leading for example to the opening of pre-orders. It remains to be seen when Ubisoft will decide to lift the veil on the fruit of its work.

A Ubisoft Forward soon?

For the record, according to the sources considered the most credible, this remake would adopt the RPG approach of recent productions, notably taking over their loot system, their weather management, their graphics, as well as the improved weather system introduced in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. To this would be added several gameplay adjustments, various comfort options and, above all, around four hours of new content, probably from sequences cut from the original game. Also mentioned is a map of a size equivalent to that of the original episode, but more detailed, an increased volume of activities, as well as redesigned menus to facilitate navigation.

According to information from Tom Henderson (Insider Gaming), Ubisoft is considering a release of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake by the end of March 2026. Between the expected communications around The Division, which will celebrate its tenth anniversary in March, Prince of Persia and Black Flag, the hypothesis of a Ubisoft Forward is gaining credibility. While awaiting official confirmation, the conditional therefore remains in place.
