Nintendo Switch 2 receives a new update, what’s new?

The Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch 1 are receiving a brand new 21.2.0 update, here are all the changes made and how to install it on the consoles.

Nintendo has just released a new update for its two consoles at the same time. As has been the case regularly since the release of the Nintendo Switch 2the patches are deployed simultaneously on both machines. When they are not very important, these small updates adjust the stability of the system or fix a few bugs here and there. Here’s what the latest update 21.2.0 changes, available on your machines now.

The new update 21.2.0 is available on Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch 1

For the Nintendo Switch 2 and the first Switch of the name, update 21.2.0 is satisfied with the bare minimum. No big major changes this time, unlike the November 2025 update for example which was very loaded with new products. With 21.2.0, there are no added features this time or new games compatible with Nintendo’s latest, but rather a very classic patch which only optimizes the user experience. The patch notes released by Nintendo are not very detailed, but very direct and explicit.

  • Patch notes for update 21.2.0 on Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch 1
    • Improved general stability and user experience.

So it’s just a very classic update this time and the latter is not particularly heavy. As usual, it will be done automatically when the machine is launched as long as you are connected to the Internet and have obviously turned it on recently. If not, you will need to install it manually. Don’t panic, the handling is clearly not complicated whether on Nintendo Switch 2 or Switch 1, it’s the same thing. Go to Console Settings > Console > Console Update. From there, the patch will do itself and you will have a notification once the installation is complete.
