Before turning the page on The Sims 4 and revealing its successor (no matter what form it takes), Maxis is making a nice gift to all players.
The evolution of The Sims is underway. Faced with the growing hubbub around the future of its license, Maxis wanted to set the record straight by revealing the broad outlines of its new strategy. The studio will continue to build on the values that have forged the reputation of the series, Project Rene will no longer be presented as the standard bearer of the future of life simulation, but as a mobile component in its own right. The Sims 4for its part, will welcome a new royal DLC, before evolving towards a project which is more like an in-between, halfway between remaster and new episode.
After ten years of good and loyal service, the fourth opus should give way to a new iteration, not yet official, but already at the heart of many rumors. An open world, more dynamic neighborhoods, a reinforced technical base and a visual overhaul are notably mentioned by sources deemed credible within the community. While waiting to learn more about this potential Sims 4.5Maxis has however planned to spoil its community with a free collaboration.
New free content for all Sims 4 players
This January 13, 2026, The Sims 4 will welcome a new update. Beyond the usual bug fixes and adjustments, this will above all mark the launch of a free collaboration with the Coach brand. Concretely, all players will be able to access a series of new content, including both everyday objects and clothing items inspired by the brand’s emblematic style. “Chis collection combines the iconic know-how of Coach and the inimitable charm of The Sims. It is ideal for adding the finishing touch to an outfit or decorating a room. », Specifies Maxis in its official press release. In total, nine new objects, available in more than 65 variations and colors, will enrich the Create a Sim and Buy/Build modes of The Sims 4.
Two creations will also be offered via the Gallery on the same date: the room In the Bag (Dans le sac) and the foyer The Carriage House (La Roulotte). The latter features three Sims who are passionate about fashion, with a bold and slightly chaotic style, each pursuing their own ambitions:
- Jonie Bag (he/him), talented musician and sports enthusiast, lover of S-pop and hip-hop.
- Brooke Lynne (iel), with a naturally cool style, which finds its balance between music and video games.
- Selena Zhiwei (she), independent artist, confident and romantic, in search of true love.
The new Sims 4 update and this free content will be deployed during the day of January 13, 2026 on all platforms. The news did not fail to surprise the community, more accustomed to paid kits than free collaborations.
