As promised, Maxis and EA unveiled this January 15, 2026 the next major expansion of The Sims 4, with the false air of The Bridgerton Chronicles. It already looks royal.
After the leaks and rumors, Maxis lifts the veil on The Sims 4 Legacy and Royalty, a new expansion pack that aims to bring the famous life simulation into an era of conspiracies, dynasties and power struggles. Planned for February 12, 2026this DLC will introduce Ondarion, a coastal kingdom where nobility reigns, where scandals make and break reputations, and where the throne always awaits its future sovereign.
The Sims 4 plays Bridgerton
This new royal world of The Sims 4 is divided into three distinct regions, each ruled by a large family. Dambe places emphasis on culture and the arts, with community spaces promoting living together (shared palace gardens and market). Verdemarmore unstable, mixes cunning nobles and heroic outlaws in an unpredictable atmosphere, while Bellacorde cultivates romanticism and opulence, conducive to amorous intrigues and forbidden meetings. The world of The Sims 4 Legacy & Royalty also introduces a new type of terrainthe back room, which leads a double life. A place for study, sport or relaxation (your choice) during the day, it transforms into a nightclub at nightfall.
« In Ondarion, Sims can live in splendid palace-like properties and host lavish Grand Balls. Each region is home to several noble dynasties, but the throne of Ondarion remains vacant. », Specifies the studio in the press release accompanying its announcement. At the heart of The Sims 4 Legacy, the introduction of new dynasty and nobility systems. Players will be able to found their own house, define its values, choose their heirs, exclude undesirable members or attempt a formal usurpation. We are already promised that every action will have an impact on the family tree and the prestige of the lineage.

Royal scandals worthy of Bridgerton will obviously have a very special place. Rumors, forbidden loves or explosive revelations can shake up Sims’ careers, alliances and reputation, leaving the player with the choice between public apologies, mass denial or cynical exploitation of the situation by writing a book about said sandal, for example. Rumor has it, however, that an entire world was initially planned, before EA asked teams to reduce the African world to a simple neighborhood. Finally, the purchase of the pack during its pre-order phase will be accompanied temporarily, and free, digital content Royal Treasures and two new kits, Tea in the Sun and Classic Cinema Styles.
