Assassin’s Creed Hexe: if you’re waiting for the darkest game in the saga, we have good news for you and it’s official

Assassin’s Creed Hexe seems pretty well on its way to being a landmark episode of the license. Good news has just been made official and it is really reassuring for the future.

Recently, we learned, for example, that Benoît Richter was joining the team as director. The developer is a real veteran in the field and was notably able to work on Batman Arkham Origins, but also Assassin’s Creed Valhalla or even Transference. The developer knows quite well in terms of immersion and atmosphere and he will be supported by another key figure in the license. We learned today that Christopher Grilli is also joining the development ofAssassin’s Creed Hexe as main screenwriter.

A new veteran joins the Assassin’s Creed Hexe team

Again, this is excellent news since the man knows his stuff very well. He notably worked on Assassin’s Creed Origins and AC Mirage. The first is still considered one of the best games in the license today. In any case, he is the one who transformed the recipe for the franchise. Mirage, for its part, can pride itself on having a solid story and an impeccable atmosphere. Two points on which we are precisely waiting for the future AC Hexe. The man made the news official on his Linkedin profile, saying he was very “happy to join the development of Assassin’s Creed Hexe as a screenwriter”.

Wait is the word. Hexe should certainly be revealed later this year since the game is expected for 2027 according to several sources. If there has been nothing official on this subject for the moment, it is said that the game should land after the follow-up to Assassin’s Creed Shadows which should still have the right to content during 2026 before passing the torch. Hexe will also be the first game to see the light of day under its new label overseen by both Ubisoft and Tencent.

The two giants having recently merged to consolidate the publisher’s place on the market at a time of great difficulty. Ubi’s biggest licenses like Assassin’s Creed or Far Cry and Rainbow Six are now part of this new entity. Let’s see what all this will bring, but on paper in any case, we are rather reassured by everything that has been announced so far.
