Three after the somewhat painful release of Survivor, a huge surprise would have leaked concerning the continuation of the adventures of Cal Kestis in Star Wars Jedi 3.
Unfortunately for him, Star Wars Jedi Survivor had a very complicated launch with major performance issues on all platforms. The fault is partly due to a development in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. Despite all its qualities and the best will of Respawn Entertainment, the sequel to Fallen Order will therefore have carried the stigma of an unfinished game for many months before receiving the necessary fixes. The development of a third and final chapter nevertheless began shortly after to restore the image of a license that is still very popular, and this could indeed provide news more quickly than expected.
Star Wars Jedi 3 finally already ready to return to the Force?
In addition to an unhappy launch for Survivor, Respawn Entertainment has also experienced some setbacks since 2023, as it continued to work on Apex Legends and the development of Star Wars Jedi 3. Two years ago, Stig Asmussen, the director of the series centered on Cal Kestis, left the studio. Then, he had to cash the dismissal of around a hundred people due to “necessary adjustments”. Despite Respawn’s assurances that this would not unduly affect their plans, there was cause for concern.
However, if we are to believe a prediction from Tim Getty, co-founder of Kinda Funnysuch concerns potentially had no reason to be regarding Star Wars Jedi 3. In a video prediction of the top 10 games coming in 2026, he indeed indicated “ having heard things that the Survivor sequel had a chance of coming out this year ».
He thus predicts that Star Wars Jedi 3 could be entitled to an announcement a little before Summer Game Fest 2026, around May, for a release in September. Although such a prediction is surprising given the fact that the title has not given any official news for a very long time, a release this year would correspond to the pace of release of the previous episodes, launched as a reminder respectively in 2019, then in 2023. However, we should of course wait for confirmation from Respawn and Electronic Arts to be sure.
