A little less than a year after its release, Elden Ring Nightreign is the subject of the official announcement of a new game unlike any other in its image.
Despite its rather atypical concept, Elden Ring Nightreignreleased at the end of May 2025, was a great success with the public. The attempt to propose an almost exclusively cooperative spin-off to its masterpiece which is Elden Ring has more recently been the subject of a transformation by FromSoftware in the form of Forsaken Hollowsa first paid DLC which also managed to conquer its audience. While waiting for potential future developments around the title or the next productions from the famous Japanese studio, another intriguing announcement recently appeared.
A new, atypical form of expedition is being prepared for Elden Ring Nightreign
Despite the fact that Elden Ring Nightreign has not yet celebrated its first anniversary, FromSoftware’s latest game has obviously already made a lot of noise among the public. Group SNE recently announced that a collaboration with FromSoftware is currently in the works around the cooperative spin-off of Elden Ring. A few days ago, the group specializing in tabletop role playing games has in fact announced that it is working on an adaptation of Nightreign in such a format.
For the record, Group SNE is the creator of Sword World RPG, a role-playing game so popular in Japan that it almost took the place of the legendary Dungeons & Dragons in the Land of the Rising Sun. It is also to them that we owe the tabletop role-playing game adaptation of Dark Souls, but also ofArmored Core 6 or Elden Ring. With such a track record, it would seem that the transposition of the rules of Elden Ring Nightreign into a classic paper-and-pencil role-playing game is in good hands here. It remains to be seen what form this will take.
Although Group SNE has not shared any visuals or additional information on this subject, we will not have to wait long to discover what Elden Ring Nightreign will bring to the tabletop role-playing game format, since it should be released sometime in spring 2026. However, this may only concern the Japanese public, pending translation into other languages. Verdict in the coming months.
