“The list is crazy”, Starfield is far from dead and Bethesda still promises great surprises after the PS5 version

Today marks a date of great importance for Starfield, and Bethesda takes the opportunity to assure that it is far from finished with its space RPG.

Three years after its initial release in somewhat bumpy conditions on PC and Xbox Series, Starfield has since come a long way among the stars, with highs like numerous major updates greatly improving the experience, but also lows including a first DLC, Shattered Spaceparticularly disappointing. This April 7, 2026 marks a new turning point for Bethesda’s last baby, since we are witnessing three deployments for the price of one: the release of its famous PS5 port, that of its second DLC called Terra Armada, and finally the arrival of the Free Lanes update further refining everything. And the studio clearly still has big plans for its star field.

Despite a rocky launch and a first DLC that is far from convincing, Bethesda has repeatedly maintained that it intends to support Starfield for many more years, as it did with its previous games in The Elder Scrolls franchises such as the still popular Skyrim and Fallout. While its space RPG arrives today on PS5 accompanied by a second DLC and a new major update, members of Constellation have further confirmed the studio’s plans for it in an interview with our colleagues at GamesRadar.

Among them, Tim Lamb, chief creative producer of Starfield, notably indicated that there is still “ lots of things to come. I can’t go into detail, but when we launch a game, our plan is always to support it for the long term. How much and in what way this manifests is open to interpretation, but there’s plenty to add that excites the team. There’s still a lot of lore and places we want to explore ».

Istvan Pely, artistic director of the studio, also added his contribution in the GamesRadar interview about the “long-term follow-up of Starfield”. “ We’ve discussed at length internally about so many different versions of DLC we want to do, which focus on different elements of the game, the list is crazy. We intend to continue updating the game. Starfield is far from dead ».
