Available in the PS Plus games of the month, Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered has a nasty surprise in store for trophy hunters on PS5. But there is a solution.
It’s a new month starting for subscribers to PS Pluswho can now collect the new selection of free games offered by PlayStation. And we can say it, after a rather solid month of March, notably marked by the presence of Monster Hunter Rise and The Elder Scrolls Online, the company is once again hitting hard with games like Lords of the Fallen, Sword Art Online and Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered. But if you’re going to play the latter, a bit of caution is in order, especially for trophy hunters.
Trophy hunters, beware Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered
Indeed, within the PlayStation community, there are many players who devote themselves to the hunt for virtual trophies, present in large numbers in each game. It must also be admitted that there is nothing more satisfying than the notification of a trophy that falls, especially when it comes to that of the sacrosanct trophy: platinum. Do you agree with this observation? In this case, if you plan to explore Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered, be careful. It is strongly recommended that you choose the PS4 version of the game over the PS5 version.
For what ? Because for obscure reasons, the latter is simply exempt from platinum trophies. Yes, despite the presence of 284 trophies spread across the three games in this compilation and their respective expansions, Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered does not offer a single platinum to PS5 players, who therefore risk finishing their hunt with a slight bitter taste in their mouth. This finding is all the more surprising given that the PS4 version, which is obviously playable on PS5, comes with three platinum trophies, one per game.
As you can see, if you want to indulge in some serious trophy hunting after picking up Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered via PS Plus, you’re better off opting for the PS4 version of the game. Unless you’re a really big trophy hunter at heart, in which case, you can always launch both versions to get a double ration of trophies in addition to the platinum trophies.
