PS Portal receives yet another new update, what’s new?

Just a few weeks after its last update, PS Portal is already welcoming a new patch with additional improvements. Here’s what’s changing.

In recent weeks, things are definitely moving a lot on the PlayStation hardware side. Besides the unfortunate news price increase announced by Sony for its machines, the latter have in fact been entitled to multiple updates, whether to introduce the PSSR 2 on PS5 Pro, or to tease the imminent arrival of a new interface optimization from the PS5 menu among some users. And things don’t stop there since the PS Portal, for its part, is not forgotten by the manufacturer either.

PS Portal receives a new update

As proof, after receiving a nice update last month, the objective of which was in particular to introduce a new game mode to the machine, the PS Portal was once again entitled to an unexpected update yesterday. This time, however, nothing as significant is to be noted, since version 7.0.2 only aims “to improve the performance and stability of system software”in addition “to improve messages and the ergonomics of certain screens”. For PS Portal users, however, this is still worth taking.

Please note that some players may have reported a delay in installing the update, which sometimes remains blocked at a certain point during the download. If this happens, don’t panic: you just need to wait a little while waiting for progression to naturally resume its course. For the rest, the PS Portal does not seem to have any additional new features to offer at the moment, which is not a big surprise given the major update deployed by PlayStation recently.

Let us take this opportunity to remember that despite its apparent discretion in Sony’s communication, the PS Portal nevertheless remains an accessory very popular with players. In the space of a year, 162% additional monthly users have joined the adventure, proof of the success of the PS5 accessory. An accessory which, unfortunately, was also a victim of the recent inflation announced by PlayStation, and which therefore saw its price increase from €219.99 to €249.99 following an increase of €30. Strange generation…
