Certainly, it seems that there are a lot of ideas in the heads of Nintendo executives at the moment. There would be something new in store for our dear, timid plumber Luigi.
There is total excitement around the mascots Nintendo Right now. The Kyoto firm is all the rage with the new animated film Super Mario Galaxyproduced by the French studio Illumination. Beyond the box office, some also see it as a springboard for new projects around its licenses. Among the rumors, a certain Luigi would be concerned, and not just a little.
Nintendo has big plans for one of its biggest heroes
Even if Mario remains Nintendo’s most legendary figurine, he is not the only one to have a special place in the hearts of fans. Just his brother, Luigi, enjoys great popularity. Despite his fearful character, the guy not only has a place reserved in all the spin-offs of the mustachioed plumber franchise, but is also entitled to games in his name. Therefore, many are waiting for his return.
That’s good, because Nintendo is reportedly working on several new features regarding the green-clad plumber. Insider Nick Baker, who operates online under the pseudonym Shpeshal Nick, claims to have heard many things about him, including an idea for a film Luigi’s Mansion :
[…]. From what I’ve heard, a lot of things are in the works. I can’t talk about it yet, but they’re thinking about pitching a Luigi’s Mansion film, for example.

A new Luigi’s Mansion coming to Switch 2?
Nintendo’s new transmedia strategy is carefully considered. We see it again right now: after releasing the remastered compilation Super Mario Galaxy games on Switch, Big N released a Switch 2 edition of Super Mario Bros Wonder with additional content including the addition of the character Harmony to the roster. And all this ahead of the release of the new hit animated film.
Therefore, highlighting the heroes of the Nintendo galaxy has enough to motivate other productions. If we talk for example about a return of the saga Star Foxthe youngest of the Mario brothers would not be left out either. Still according to Nick Baker, Big N is actively working on a new game featuring Luigi. More than that, he would have heard of a future Luigi’s Mansion Amiibo figurine. It would therefore not be surprising if these accompanied this new game.
Even if this information should be taken with the usual grain of salt, it would not be surprising if Nintendo had a Luigi game project on track. The Mansion license is very popular. The first Switch was entitled to a third episode and a remaster of the second. The Nintendo Switch 2 would therefore be the ideal ground for further redesigns or, hopefully, a Luigi’s Mansion 4.
