Do you spend a lot of time gaming on Nintendo Switch 2? In this case, this tip could help you preserve the efficiency of your battery in the long term.
With more than 17 million units sold in just six months, the Nintendo Switch 2 is undoubtedly a real hit for Nintendo. It must be said that after the phenomenal success of the first Switch, it was difficult to see things differently. However, despite the enthusiasm generated by the new machine, certain elements continue to bother players. At the top of the list in particular: battery life, considered far too low by the public. However, there is a solution to better preserve it.
Indeed, all owners of electronic devices know that the more we tend to charge them, the more the battery loses its efficiency over the cycles. For owners of the Nintendo Switch 2, this therefore raises real fears given the low autonomy that the console has had since its launch. Fortunately, it seems that the Japanese manufacturer has thought of everything. An option present in the settings, rightly recommended by Nintendo, aims to preserve the console’s battery in the long term.
Located in the “Console” tab, this, called “Stop recharging between 80 and 90%”, allows the Nintendo Switch 2 to stop recharging the battery before reaching 100% with the aim of “to optimize its lifespan”. Of course, this will not improve the autonomy of the machine during your gaming sessions, but it should at least preserve its effectiveness in the long term, despite the multiplicity of reloading cycles. Knowing that, as Nintendo specifies, this option will not prevent your battery level from being displayed at 100%.
“Even when this option is activated, it may happen that the console recharges the battery to 100% to ensure a correct display of the charge level” can we indeed read on the Nintendo Switch 2. It remains to be seen whether this will really be effective over time, which we will not really be able to verify for a few years. But by then, maybe a new model of Nintendo Switch 2 with a removable battery will have appeared? In any case, this is the rumor that has been circulating for several weeks… To be continued.
