The information fell yesterday afternoon: Xbox is officially meeting us on January 22 at 7 p.m. (French time) for its first speech of the year, as usual focused on the format Developer_Direct. And with Fableof Forza Horizon 6 but also Beast of Reincarnation on the program, there is no doubt that we will have something to eat with this conference. Moreover, according to new rumors, it could even be that Xbox hasn’t really told us everything.
Xbox would have a surprise in store for its conference
Indeed, in the hours following the announcement of the conference, the insider Shinobi602 posted a message that was, to say the least, enigmatic on the ResetEra forums, where he mentioned the presence of a “fourth ‘secret’ game” not mentioned by Xbox. Of course, he was careful not to reveal the identity of this famous mystery game, which has since been the subject of numerous speculations on the web. And if the information remains of course to be taken with a grain of salt for the moment, it is clear that Xbox would not be its first attempt with this format.
After all, let’s remember for example that the four games initially announced at last year’s Developer_Direct were joined by the surprise announcement of Ninja Gaiden 4accompanied by the shadow drop of Ninja Gaiden 2 Black in Xbox Game Pass. In 2023, we were also treated to the shadow drop of the excellent Hi-Fi Rush, which then took everyone by surprise. Suffice to say, therefore, that it would not be surprising to see Xbox repeat the maneuver by adding a fourth unexpected announcement to the line-up already announced.
But then, what could it be? For now, no one can say. Remember, however, that this week, Jez Corden, journalist at Windows Central, claimed to have heard that “one of Xbox’s boldest teams could be ready to reveal the project it’s been working on behind the scenes”. Unless it’s another of the many games mentioned by some rumors, such as a remaster for Fallout New Vegas or even Wolfenstein 3 ? Response in a little less than two weeks.
