Despite numerous calls for a boycott, Assassin’s Creed Shadows ultimately exceeded all of Ubisoft’s expectations, which therefore says it is very satisfied with the results.
If there’s one game that the adage “the calm after the storm” seems to apply to, it’s Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Indeed, ahead of its release on March 20, the Ubisoft title will have been at the heart of numerous and heated controversies, which will naturally have been very difficult to cross for the editor. Nevertheless, several months after its arrival, the game now seems to have managed to find its cruising speed, between free updates and DLC. And obviously, it’s paying off, since Assassin’s Creed Shadows has finally exceeded all of Ubisoft’s expectations.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows exceeds Ubisoft’s expectations
In its latest financial report, which was revealed a little late, the French publisher assured that it was fully satisfied with the performance achieved by the title, even if no official sales figures were revealed for the occasion. « Assassin’s Creed Shadows benefited from the launch of the New Game+ mode, highly anticipated by the community, which introduced high difficulty and new challenges for players » can we read in particular in the report published this Friday, November 21.
« The ‘Hunt on Awaji’ expansion, released on September 16, helped to revive player interest. It was praised as a solid addition to the base game, offering unique new boss fights in a dark and beautiful atmosphere »then adds Ubisoft. Before recalling that Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be able to reach an even larger audience from December 2, the date on which it will be officially available on Nintendo Switch 2.
This is intended to be extremely reassuring, therefore. Especially at a time when Ubisoft’s latest releases generally tend to underperform, as titles like Star Wars Outlaws and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. Moreover, even beyond Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the entire franchise seems to be doing well, the publisher having specified in its report that an increase in attendance of 35% was noted compared to recent years. As with Hogwarts Legacy, we are therefore on a boycott… very effective, you will agree.
