A few days before Xbox’s next speech, a big announcement seems to be looming from Fable, and this could well make millions of players happy.
Next week, Xbox will hold its first big conference of the year 2026 with the Developer_Directwhich will take an in-depth look at three of the most anticipated titles of the coming months. And if this will notably be an opportunity to learn more about Beast of Reincarnation, the next title from Game Freak, it will above all be a way for the firm to highlight future games from Playground Games, namely Forza Horizon 6 et Fable. With, possibly, a big announcement for PS5 players regarding the latter.
Fable available upon release on PS5? That would be the plan!
Indeed, it has now become a non-debate: the question is no longer whether Xbox will release its next games on PS5, but rather when it will happen. Because after bringing its flagship titles like Forza Horizon 5 and Gears of War Reloaded on the Sony machine last year, then announced that of Halo Campaign Evolved for 2026, there is no doubt that games like Fable and Forza Horizon 6 will also be entitled to it. But according to recent information, it could be that only Fable benefits from a day one release on PS5.
In any case, this is what Andy Robinson, journalist at Video Games Chronicle, revealed in the media’s latest podcast. “Fable will be released day one [sur PS5]. That’s what I was told.” he declared in particular, before adding: « [Mais] These are the kinds of details that insiders make mistakes on, aren’t they? These are the kind of details that can be changed a week or a day in advance”. A way of indicating that nothing is ever set in stone so, even if, he still assures it: “Yes, it’s coming to PS5”.
As for Forza Horizon 6, however, Playground Games would not not yet readywhich explains why a day one release on PS5 would not be considered unlike Fable. “He’s just not ready.” explains Robinson, while specifying that he does not have all the details on this subject. “I don’t know if that’s true, because this game is going to be phenomenally successful, but it would be just as phenomenally successful if it launched on all platforms on day one, right? You’d think that’s an obstacle for them.”.

Of course, like Robinson himself, let us nevertheless insist on the fact that at this stage, nothing is fundamentally set in stone. Whether it concerns Fable or Forza Horizon 6, everything is still subject to change. The only thing certain, at the time of writing these lines, is that we will have to wait for the Xbox conference to hope to find out more on this subject. Because if there must be announcements of additional platforms and release dates, it will undoubtedly be during the event that Playground Games will officially lift the veil.
