If you liked FF16 or the very recent FF Tactics remaster, then you should definitely be receptive to Maehiro’s latest rant. Like every year, the 4Gamer site takes a tour of the major players in the industry and gives us their impressions of the year that went by, and the projects to come. Kazutoyo Maehiro therefore took the opportunity to look back on the highlights of his year.
It must be said that the man has had a lot of work between the release of FF Tactics The Ivalice Chronicles, very well received by the press and fans, but also the book LOGOS The World of Final Fantasy 16, which goes behind the scenes of the game and its universe: “In 2025, we released FF Tactics The Ivalice Chronicles on September 30 and LOGOS The World of Final Fantasy XVI on December 16. Although the game and the book took different approaches, we were fully invested in both”he declares in the columns of 4Gamer.
But Maehiro doesn’t stop there and also takes the opportunity to do a little teasing about what’s next. He says his next project in the works will also take a different approach. We don’t yet know what it is, if it will be a new Final Fantasy or something else entirely, but what is certain is that the developer is not idle and is redoubling its efforts with its teams.
