“It’s Mass Effect 5”, Exodus will pull out all the stops and prove it to us again

Mass Effect 5 takes its time and Exodus benefits greatly from it. One of its biggest competitors intends to pull out all the stops and proves it once again with gameplay.

Sci-fi fans are waiting Mass Effect 5 impatiently, but if the game is in development at Bioware he hasn’t given any news for a long time. In its wake, two other major competitors risk winning the prize from 2027: The Expanse Osiris Rebornwhich is also based on a solid and extremely appreciated license, as well asExoduswhich can count on the support of former Bioware employees. The game has also accelerated its communication recently and is revealing itself once again.

Exodus follows in the footsteps of Mass Effect, fans are won over

After a few minutes of gameplay, Exodus lets us see a new environment. A true spiritual brother of Mass Effect, Exodus borrows heavily from its model, from its gameplay mechanics to its atmosphere to the radial menu for choosing weapons. The inspirations are crystal clear and there is clearly a place to be taken. There aren’t that many great science fiction RPGs and for the moment none have managed to rise to the level of the Mass Effect trilogy. The more it is revealed, the more fans are convinced: Exodus could be one of the strong candidates for the crown. Some even see it as the real Mass Effect 5, the sequel that many were waiting for. This is perhaps a bit of a quick observation, even if on paper, Exodus is clearly pulling out all the stops.

A very promising science fiction RPG

The game will take us to the ends of the universe on a quest to protect humanity and ensure its future. Like Mass Effect, we are promised the exploration of planets, a gripping story and the possibility of forming bonds with our teammates. We do not yet know if Exodus will have the same narrative sensitivity as the first three Mass Effect, nor if we will have the right to difficult choices with important consequences.

What we are sure of, however, is that the game will focus on action and collaboration between our hero and a commando of allies. It will also be possible to give them orders like in the BioWare series. It will also be a question of exploring varied environments. This is demonstrated by the latest video which reveals a gigantic, visibly extraterrestrial structure. In more than one way, Exodus is the perfect replacement for Mass Effect. The game is expected in early 2027 on PS5, Xbox Series and PC. Until then, the game will meet us this summer, certainly at Summer Game Fest.
