Until now only the subject of rumors, a big surprise is officially being prepared for players who are fans of the iconic John Wick played by Keanu Reeves.
After the solid spin-off Ballerinamany are now waiting for news of the next official film, John Wick 5. During a recent call to its investors, Lionsgate however made another official announcement just as worthy of attention for fans of the famous assassin played by Keanu Reeves, but which this time goes beyond the cinematic framework.
John Wick soon on another type of screen
The John Wick franchise is definitely among the hottest recent Hollywood franchises. This in particular thanks to action films with a frenetic pace, intense and magnificently choreographed combat scenes, high-end sets, and above all striking characters, including obviously the lead role of a crazy class played by a Keanu Reeves in very good form. Since the release of the first film in 2014, however, many fans have dreamed of being able to do the same thing in a game.
Lionsgate, the production company of John Wick, visibly shared a similar desire in 2023 by toying with the idea of making a video game adaptation with a AAA budget. The rumor of the development of such a game has been circulating ever since, but things recently took a more official turn during a call to investors of Lionsgate for its second quarter of fiscal year 2026. During this, Adam Fogelson, director of the cinematographic branch of the group, in any case indicated “We have opportunities in the field of AAA video games such as John Wick and Saw, which will be announced soon”.
Fogelson also mentioned the fact that Lionsgate would like to adapt other flagship franchises in its portfolio to the video game format. In addition to AAA games around John Wick and Saw, we should therefore expect other similar initiatives in the near future. Concerning the character of Keanu Reeves, with his experience in the skin of Johnny Silverhand for Cyberpunk 2077the actor could still treat us to a great performance. It remains to be seen whether the John Wick game will live up to the films; a AAA budget was not necessarily a guarantee of a successful project.
