The year 2026 will therefore indeed be that of the return of Life is Strange. While the first rumors concerning the actress who could play Maxine ‘Max’ Caulfield in the Prime Video series began to emerge yesterday, it has also been rumored for some time that Square Enix would be on the verge of announcing a sequel to Double Exposurethe latest opus released in October 2024. And the good news is that it is no longer a rumor. Yes, Life is Strange 5 is coming, and we’ll know more very soon.
Life is Strange 5 will be revealed soon, it’s official
The information has just fallen on social networks: Square Enix officially gives us See you on January 20 at 7 p.m. (French time) for one “exclusive reveal of the next Life is Strange game”. For now, no additional details have been communicated by the publisher, apart from a vague teaser featuring two characters whose identity remains hidden. However, fans think they have recognized Max Caulfield and Chloe Price, who could therefore be back for Life is Strange 5.
In any case, this is what the leak that occurred last week revealed to us, where we learned thanks to a sheet briefly published on the PEGI site that this new opus, potentially called Reunion, would bring together the two protagonists for the first time since the release of Farewell, the extension to Life is Strange: Before the Storm. The project would then still be headed by Deck Nine Games, in charge of the license since the release of True Colors.
Note, however, that the Life is Strange 5 teaser is accompanied on social networks by an enigmatic message which says: “Separating rumors from reality…”. Is this a wink from the studio regarding the leaks that occurred over the past week, or does it mean that we shouldn’t necessarily believe everything we’ve read about this future opus so far? For the moment, difficult to say. In any case, one thing is certain: the answer will be given to us within five short days, while Life is Strange 5 has already been announced for release in 2026.
