A few weeks before its release, Octopath Traveler 0 is offering a demo on all platforms, allowing Nintendo Switch 2 players to discover the start of the adventure.
We may be slowly but surely reaching the end of the year 2025, but one thing is certain: it has not quite said its last word yet. Particularly regarding the Nintendo Switch 2. Indeed, while Bandai Namco and Sora Ltd have just released the excellent Kirby Air Ridersthe Nintendo machine is now preparing to welcome two beautiful additional cartridges which, by coincidence, will be released on the same day: Metroid Prime 4 et Octopath Traveler 0. And one of them is already playable for free.
Octopath Traveler 0 gets a demo on Nintendo Switch 2
Indeed, as announced by Square Enix during the last State of Playplayers who wish can now jump into Octopath Traveler 0 thanks to a free demo, available both on Nintendo Switch 2, but also Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series and PC. And the least we can say is that the publisher really didn’t do things by halves, since no less than three hours of gameplay await you in this trial version, which will give you access to the beginnings of the adventure.
You will thus have the opportunity to create your protagonist, before launching into the introduction of Octopath Traveler 0 which the publisher announces as being « explosive ». “You will discover how a joyous local festival turns into tragedy, and how your hero embarks on a quest for restoration and revenge”we are told. Once this is done, you can then pursue the three antagonists of the adventure, notably discovering the first chapter of each of their narrative arcs in the order you wish.
But things don’t stop there, since Square Enix also announces that you will be able to discover the first chapter of the “Kindlers of the Flame” arc, which will give you the opportunity to experience the city building features of Octopath Traveler 0. The icing on the cake, your progress can then be kept for the final version of the game which, as a reminder, will officially arrive on December 4. Suffice to say that you have no reason to deny your pleasure of playing it with a little advance, therefore.
