Today, everyone can afford Star Wars Racer Revenge for only €10 on PS4 and PS5 via the PlayStation Store. It is currently even on sale at €5 during the sales until January 8. That said, on the physical market side, it looks more complicated to obtain one of the 8,500 copies in circulation.
Originally sold for $14.99 by the publisher in its standard edition and $37.50 in a Premium box set, it has long been out of stock. Therefore, you have to go through the second-hand market to get it in a box on PS4. However, anyone who embarks on this quest must be able to produce a good ticket today. 300, 350, even 400 €…prices on online platforms like eBay have exploded.
The reason for such an increase? No particular nostalgia, nor even major critical success. The cause could in fact be found among hackers. This PS4 game in particular would have become essential for the development of a new jailbreak method PlayStation 5 thanks to the exploitation of a flaw in the Star Wars Racer Revenge code. From then on, the title has become a real ticket that some are ready to snatch at a high price.
