After Resident Evil Requiem next month, the Capcom franchise could well announce another project highly anticipated by fans by the end of the year.
In just over a month from today, the future of Resident Evil will continue to be written with the release of Resident Evil Requiemthe next main installment in Capcom’s great franchise. And if the players are definitely impatient to find Leon and Grace in this new adventure, they are also impatient at the idea of being able to rediscover some of the old episodes of the series. And that’s good, because insider AestheticGamer insists: Requiem won’t be the only Resident Evil to get people talking this year.
A new Resident Evil remake announced this year?
Indeed, if you have followed the news in recent days, you have undoubtedly seen the theory that a remake of Resident Evil 5 could also be on the program for the thirtieth anniversary of the franchise. In particular, the fact that the actress Eva La Dare, who plays Sheva Alomar in the opus in question, teased something related to the game for the month of March on her social networks. However, don’t get carried away: “There is NO Resident Evil 5 remake being announced this year” assure AestheticGamer.
On the other hand, that doesn’t mean that fans won’t have anything to eat. “Instead, later this year, a remake starting with ‘C’ and ending with ‘Ode Veronica’ will be announced, I promise.”. No need to have done major studies to understand that it is a question of a remake of Code Veronicawhich some consider to be one of the most underrated episodes of the saga. And obviously, this idea already excites fans much more than that of a remake of Resident Evil 5.
That being said, we can’t really say that this information is a big surprise either. This is indeed far from being the first time that AestheticGamer mentions the existence of a remake of Code Veronica, which would also be developed in parallel with a remake of Resident Evil 0. On the other hand, no remake of Resident Evil 5 is currently in production, although that doesn’t mean that Capcom won’t end up coming to it one day. In the meantime, we must nevertheless expect something else from the studio if we are to believe the Sheva actress.
A credible source, but be careful nonetheless
Of course, as always in this type of situation, let’s emphasize the fact that all this should be taken with a grain of salt. To date, no additional remakes have been made official or even mentioned by Capcom, which is fully focused on the arrival of Resident Evil Requiem on February 27. That said, given AestheticGamer’s pedigree, we can still be confident that the announcement of a Code Veronica remake is imminent… and that couldn’t make us more happy.
