Rumors of a second Nintendo Direct at the start of the year are being confirmed thanks to the intervention of a studio which was quickly ‘repaired’ by the Kyoto firm.
This afternoon will be held the first Nintendo Direct of the year. However, it will be a somewhat special conference, since it is dedicated to a single game (Tododachi Life). But players who want to know more about the 2026 line-up of the Switch 2 can rest assured. A second conference would be about to arrive. The rumor seems to be true after the somewhat early speech of a developer.
The new Nintendo Direct should take place
This afternoon at 3 p.m., Nintendo fans will be able to follow the Direct dedicated to one of the future Switch exclusives. However, Tomodachi Life is not necessarily the title that the entire community is waiting for (not Zelda or Mario who wants). That’s why many are waiting for a more traditional conference, which will provide news of upcoming games this year and beyond.
That’s good, because the rumors in the corridors indicate another meeting that could not be more imminent for Nintendo. If we are to believe insider Nate the Hate, it would take place no later than next Thursday, the February 5, 2026. A date obviously to be confirmed. And precisely, an impromptu speech would go well in this direction.
On social networks, the Shapefarm studio has announced that its next game, Orbitalswould be featured during this year’s first Nintendo Direct. The post has since been deleted, a sign that this statement was not on point. Was it Nintendo who had it removed? Did the team realize their mistake? In any case, we know how much the publisher doesn’t let anything slip when it comes to potential leaks.
For the moment, we still do not know the exact reason for this deletion. Still, this type of sequence (speaking, then withdrawing your message) is often a sign of haste. Shapefarm seems to confirm to us a little early thata new Nintendo Direct will be held soonfollowing that of Tomodachi Life. See you at the beginning of next week to see if the publisher will give us an official appointment. Already knowing that we can count on a new presentation of Orbitals.
