Released on April 22, 2025, Oblivion Remastered has started to show a very worrying problem on its Xbox Series and PS5 versions for a few days.
Available for three weeks now via a more really secret shadow drop for a long time, Oblivion Remastered obviously experienced a successful launch On PC, PS5 and Xbox Series. The overhaul of The Elder Scrolls 4 on the Unreal Engine 5 delighted the eyes of both the players of the original game released in 2006 and newcomers. But this idyllic return to Cyrodiil would turn into a nightmare on consoles over the adventure, if we are to believe many returns and an in -depth investigation of the expert analysts of Digital Foundry.
Vice hidden in the Consoles versions of Oblivion Remastered?
At first glance, the work of virtuos (who also takes care of Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake To come on August 26) on Oblivion Remastered forces respect. Cyrodiil rendered on the Unreal Engine 5 is a real enchantment for the eyes, which retains all the magic of the original game, with the added bonus of some improvements, although sorting timid, at the level of the gameplay. Over the hours, the preliminary enchantment would however turn into a hell of performance, in any case on consoles.
Many PS5 and Xbox Series players have indeed reported severe falls in terms of images after several hours of play On oblivion remastered. Digital Foundry took up the case and carried out extensive tests to see how much. The result is unfortunately without appeal: The more we progress on the remaster of The Elder Scrolls 4 on consoles, the more problems accumulateeven on PS5 for. The rate of images per second can descend up to the surroundings of 20 fps, with the added bonus problems of instability and untimely crashes.
Unfortunately, Oblivion Remastered would follow at this level with a little too much loyalty the original game. This was also known for its performance problems, the more we advance in the game, among other bugs notoriously known in Bethesda productions. These concerns would therefore not be exclusive to this overhaul of the title on the Unreal Engine 5. The PC version seems on the other hand very well. But Bethesda and Virtuos must quickly react with a major patch to save the console versions of this infernal incursion in Cyrodill and Oblivion Remastered.
