One blink, 10 months of dissociation and we’re there. It’s already time to wish you all a great new year 2025. The entire Gameblog team wishes you the best for this new year. May 2026 bring you memorable experiences, hours of play, without too many bugs, which make you forget the rest of the world for 48 hours straight, and a few exploits to recount over coffee or pizza, depending on the time.
2025 was… something. A whirlwind of exits, failures, layoffs, delays and a few nuggets that we will still talk about in a few years. And Chiaroscuro Expedition 33 and its incredible story, inseparable from the year that has just passed. A year of transition towards an uncertain future, with giants like Microsoft which seem to have lost their editorial line, the destiny of Warner Bros. Games still blurry, and generative AI making its way into games and studios. Maybe we won’t have enough RAM to play The Witcher 4… But hey, we will also have GTA 6, Marvel’s Wolverine, Resident Evil RequiemPokemon Pokopia, Forza Horizon 6 and perhaps the return of Fable after 15 years. Suffice it to say that 2026 promises to be an anthological year.
We wish you all the best for the next 365 days. That you can find the time to devour all the future releases, to finally tackle this game that has been sitting in your backlog for five years, that you make lots of discoveries that will mark you, amaze you, touch you, lead to great encounters, and above all, remind you why we all love video games.
Despite the ups and many downs of 2025, we wanted to thank you for accompanying us every year in this somewhat chaotic daily life that is that of a video game medium. A huge thank you for continuing to follow us as we struggle between our fight against Google and our ever-strong desire to offer you quality articles, more in-depth tests, more interviews and meetings dedicated to the independent scene. Last year, I drew a parallel between our journey and a roguelike. We don’t always feel like we’re moving forward, but each failure allows us to start again with a little more experience, new passives and a different strategy.
We hope that you will soon notice the changes, and that you have enjoyed the some content published during this festive period. We will have plenty of time to talk about it again quietly in the editorial’s review of the year, and above all to share with you our expectations for 2026. So here we go for a new run, punctuated by articles written by humans, for humans (and a little for Google sometimes, that’s the game). We hope this one will be good for you.
