Already considered a technical reference on the PS4, The Last of Us 2 sublimates on PS5 and PC. That said, the console version doesn’t always go as far as some fans would like. PC users therefore allow themselves more freedoms with the Sony showcase and that really impresses. After tackling monuments like Skyrim, The Witcher 3 or even Cyberpunk 2077, he finally set his sights on The Last of Us 2 last spring. Guaranteed change of scenery.
Once again, the modder offers a hyper-realistic vision with The Last of Us 2. Pushing the graphics settings knobs all the way up, he breathes new life into the game – already impressive as it is – from Naughty Dog. Thanks to the ray tracing more advanced and reworked lighting effectsthe atmosphere of Jackson or even the Seattle forest are more palpable than ever. We would have the feeling of being able to grasp the surrounding leaves or feel the grass under our feet.
Of course, this technical prowess has a certain impact. Digital Dreams has an extremely powerful configuration, including one RTX 5090 graphics card. This allows him in particular to run The Last of Us 2 at in 4K with a display rate of 80 frames per second. Despite all the energy that such hardware requires with such demanding parameters, the fluidity leaves you speechless.
Beyond this spectacular rendering, this also questions the relevance of such a technical implementation if it must be energy consuming. That said, it is interesting to see TLOU 2 and Sony productions in general can finally become the playground for modders who love rendered as realistic as possible.
