Even 10 years after its release, The Witcher 3 still has some very beautiful remains, as evidenced by this breathtaking video of an ultra-modded version of the game in 4K
Despite his certain age, The Witcher 3 already had at the time a beautiful artistic direction and a rather robust engine, but with that said many bugs to correct at its launch. Ten years later, the title does not stand out against much younger games, in particular thanks to a next-gen version released in 2022, but also to a passionate community of modders who continue to bring CD Projekt RED’s masterpiece to life. The latest video from Digital Dreams illustrates this magnificently.
The Witcher 3 has not yet finished bewitching us thanks to the magic of mods
Thanks to a large quantity of visual mods, as well as the Benis LM device, Digital Dreams offers us yet another superb stroll through the lush landscapes of The Witcher 3. What’s more, with the graphics knobs pushed to the limit, all in 4K at 60 FPS for total fluidity and sharpness. The YouTube channel finally completes the picture with its in-house ReShade, aptly called Beyond All Limits.
The result is truly breathtaking, and even comes close to the impressive technical demo of the worthy successor to The Witcher 3, which highlighted the developments of the Unreal Engine 5 thanks to the close collaboration between Epic Games and CD Projekt RED to develop The Witcher 4. Except that this video is indeed about the venerable original game released in 2015, and on the old engine from the Polish studio, the RED Engine. Still, the result clearly has nothing to be ashamed of by recent graphic standards.
Note, however, that to achieve this superb 4K/60 FPS rendering of The Witcher 3, Digital Dreams naturally has a competition PC. Its configuration includes an RTX 5090, a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 64 GB of RAM and a powerful SSD. The video thumbnail below indicating an RTX 4090 and 8K rendering is therefore incorrect, or probably comes from an old video.
