Behind the scenes, CD Projekt RED seems to be preparing for an imminent and particularly anticipated announcement around The Witcher 3, if recent rumors on the subject are to be believed.
While the rumors around a third DLC of The Witcher 3 are swelling thanks to various reports from Polish insiders and analysts, as close as possible to the news around their compatriots working at CD Projekt RED, the studio to which we owe the White Wolf video game trilogy, would have recently teased that new twists and turns would prepare well for the absolute game of the year of 2015.
CD Projekt RED puts its cards on the table for an upcoming announcement around The Witcher 3?
According to recent rumors, the famous third DLC of The Witcher 3 after the excellent Blood and Wine could take place in the desert region of the south, in Zerricanie. Except that it must also, according to other echoes about it, bridge the gap between the last episode of Geralt’s trilogy and The Witcher 4which will mark the beginning of Ciri’s trilogy. However, the fourth episode of the franchise will on the contrary place its story in the north of the Witcher’s world. It is therefore difficult to see how these two sets of clues can coexist.
While waiting for official confirmation regarding this famous new DLC potentially in development for The Witcher 3 through Fool’s Theory (which would also be working on a Remake of the first), CD Projekt RED recently posted on its TikTok page a video that stunned fans. This deals with the evolution of Gwentthe famous card game introduced in the third episode, and which has undergone significant changes in parallel, notably with a standalone game, a physical versionor even Thronebreaker.
The video in question is accompanied by a description that is intriguing to say the least: “ How did it evolve versus how did it… end? », therefore suggesting that CD Projekt RED would not yet have completely finished with Gwent, or even more generally with The Witcher 3. This potential teasing has in any case further fueled speculation concerning an upcoming announcement around new content to come on the venerable title. It remains to be seen whether this will indeed be the case.
