A serious doubt hovers about the return to The Witcher 4 of a cult character from the third opus, according to an interview with his interpreter of the English version.
As a reminder, The Witcher 4 intends to launch a brand new saga for the Dark Fantasy franchise, taking place several years after the events of The Witcher 3with an elderly Ciri and who has become fully a witchcraft. However, nothing prevents CD Projekt Red from bringing back old characters, the emblematic Roll the riv which should be in the game, in one way or another. On the other hand, the mystery remains completely whole with regard to the return of its half.

Currently in full production, The Witcher 4 still takes many secrets behind the scenes of CD Projekt Red. We know very little about its synopsis, the state of its universe, and even the number of years that separate us from the third opus. Therefore, we know very little about the characters that we can meet at the controls of Ciri, friends or enemies. This is in particular the case of a central character of the games and novels of Andrzej Sapkowski which they are inspired by: Yennefer de Vergentberg, magician of her state and adoptive mother of Ciri.
In a recent interview with Eurogamer, actress Denise Gough who lent her her voice in English, and who also brilliantly embodies the imperial spy of Meero in the excellent series Andor chez Disney+was unfortunately not aware of Yennefer’s potential in The Witcher 4. ” I have no information on this. To tell you the truth, I didn’t even know that I was playing Yennefer in the previous game, and it was the first time I worked for a video game ».
The actress had indeed recorded hundreds of hours of dialogue without ever knowing that she was lending her voice to Yennefer in The Witcher 3. The fault in particular the need for Total Secret for CD Projekt Red, and only vocal work, without motion-cap. Denise Gouth, however, fully aware of the importance of her superb performance after the facts. Unfortunately, it would not have a priori not yet been contacted to resume the role in The Witcher 4. Note however that it must not go out avant 2027/2028as soon as possible. Everything can still happen in such a long period of time. We therefore cross our fingers so that the duo Geralt/Yennefer returns to support our witchcraft from Ciri, as in the good old days.
