Crystal Dynamics definitely likes to play with the hearts of fans of Tomb Raider. We were talking about it not later that before the day before, it has already been three years that players have been looking forward to the return of the adventures of Lara Croft. So certainly, we were entitled to good times of nostalgia thanks to modesbut what we expect above all is the real next opus. An opus that continues terribly to be desired while umpteenth annex project has just been announced.
A new crossover for Tomb Raider
Indeed, if not being able to return to survey the world by his side, it is through a crossover with the Pinball FX game that fans will be able to find the beautiful adventurer. The Flipper’s game, renowned for its many partnerships, will thus welcome two new trays in Tomb Raider: “The adventures of Lara Croft” and “The secrets of the Croft Manor”. Of course, each of them then has a multitude of references to the universe of the franchise. “Each tray tells a story that makes it unique”explains Zen Studios, the creator of the game.
And it is perhaps this, the most interesting element to remember from this collaboration. Because as we know, Crystal Dynamics now plans to unify the two timelines of the series, so as to offer the best of the two worlds between the pre-reboot period and the post-reboot period. And this seems to be felt through this crossover which, beyond the appearance of Lara inherited from one of the latest artworks, multiplies references to all games of the saga. Okay, it’s a very meager consolation as it is, but we do what we can.
Lara’s real return now imminent?
Note, for freight lovers and unconditional fans of Lara Croft, that the Tomb Raider X Pinball FX Crossover will appear on June 19 on all platforms. For the others, we will have to continue to cross your fingers hoping that the next opus is very quickly announced.
