Disappeared from radars for several years, the next Opus of Tomb Raider could potentially be talking about him in the coming weeks.
But when will the next Tomb Raider finally be announced in good and due form? This is the big question that all fans have been asking for three years already. In 2022, Crystal Dynamics officially spoke to confirm that the successor of Shadow of the Tomb Raider was currently in development, and that it will be designed under Unreal Engine 5. And since then? It is the most complete radio silence. Not information, not an image, nothing. But it could very soon change.
The next Tomb Raider announced very soon?
This is in any case what we can hope if we believe the recent words of Natethehate on X. Insider whose reputation is no longer to be made, the latter was indeed questioned by a surfer on the potential announcements to which we can expect the Summer Game Fest. The latter then took the opportunity to mention several games, including the James Bond d’IO Interactive, The Wolf Among Us 2 and Tomb Raider. To Natethehate to answer: “At least one of them will be at the Summer Game Fest”. Which ? It is a mystery.
In view of the timing, it is not impossible, however, that the next adventures of Lara Croft are concerned. After all, with three years minimum development to its credit, the new Tomb Raider should at least be able to offer us a nice trailer to talk about him. Not to mention that we will already celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of the franchise in 2026, and that it would be an ideal opportunity for Crystal Dynamics to relaunch the communication machine. Or even, why not, take out the game.
