Zelda: the next game is already the victim of leaks, but beware of disappointment

One of Nintendo’s flagship licenses, The Legend of Zelda, could soon be entitled to a new game. Initial details have leaked, but be careful.

With the release of the Nintendo Switch 2, there is no doubt that the Kyoto company is working on the next one Zelda which will flourish on its new console. After the reissue of the last two episodes of the saga and the spin-off Hyrule Warriors: The Seal Chroniclesa new adventure has every chance of seeing the light of day in the more or less near future. What form will it take? It’s still a mystery. That said, a journalist seems to have had some feedback and is sharing them with his community.

A new Zelda that’s not so “new”?

It’s up to the journalist Nick Bakeraka Shpeshal Nick, that we owe the first to this rumor. During a recent episode of the XboxEra media podcast, he returned to certain information from anonymous sources concerning the next Zelda. What he puts forward would not evoke a new revolution for licensing. That said, this might please some fans, although these details should be taken with a grain of salt.

Indeed, Baker mentions a new Zelda in the same vein as Breath of the Wild et Tears of the Kingdom. Does this mean it would be a sequel? For the moment, nothing is certain. But he mentions the use of the same game engine, for a rendering that is undoubtedly close in terms of aesthetics. We should also expect an open world of the same type as the previous two games.

Finally, the big subtlety mentioned by the journalist concerns the gameplay. Just as Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom had their signature mechanics, this future Zelda would have its own. This would take the form of a interdimensional travel. This means that Link would move from one dimension to another and that many puzzles would be based on this specificity. For example, you should use an item from one dimension to resolve a situation in the other.

But beware of disappointment in the face of these comments. For the moment, it is really only a question ofhypotheses that are not supported by Shpeshal Nick’s colleagues. If we can advance with almost certainty that Nintendo will offer a new Zelda exclusive to its Switch 2it is still too early to absolutely believe in these rumors.
