Three weeks after its release, Doom The Dark Ages finally hosts its very first major update, here is what it brings to Slayer in its medieval fight.
Released May 15, 2025 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series and the Game Pass, DOOM The Dark Ages therefore wisely awaited its time before receiving its very first official update. This one comes in particular providing some salutary adjustments on certain elements which somewhat taint an differently exhilarating experience at the controls of the Slayer. Here are in more detail the notes of aptly named Update 1.
First Slayer toys update in Doom the Dark Ages
Despite its medieval atmosphere Dark Fantasy and a more earth-to-earth gameplay, Doom The Dark Ages did not deserve the very good reboot of 2016 and at Eternal. However, some small pitfalls could somewhat tarnish the experience of massacre from the demon to the shovel, like the phases in mecha, and especially in dragon, among other downside.
It is precisely on these points that the first update of the game comes to round the corners. We will indeed remember in particular Adjustments to streamline the sequences in Mécha and Dragonto make them more dynamic and engaging. Small greeting additions for the two big news from Doom the Dark Ages, but unfortunately the least interesting at the end of the game. Likewise, the Slayer receives some fixes to make the passages to its commands more pleasant, in particular with More enemies in each chapter of the campaign. We will finally appreciate Audio adjustmentsto ensure that the mix between sound effects and music is more balanced by default.
Finally, who says update necessarily says of Bugs in abundance. This both in the kinematics and gameplay, interface or even to improve performance and minimize the possibility of untimely crashes.
