It is a disaster for the studio behind Mindseye. In the wake of the launch, Build A Rocket Boy does not go there by four paths and makes heavy decisions.
He was expected at the turn, but MindsEye missed the turn when it was released in early June. The teams from Studio Build A Rocket Boy tried as best they can to limit the breakage, but the game suffers from bugs in abundance. Also add echoes concerning working conditions and, not surprisingly, it is the Bad Buzz Total. As a result, very heavy decisions have inevitably been made internally.
The teams pay Mindseye’s broken pots
Despite the attempts to sell Mindseye as a solid adventure ready to redefine the GTA-likes, Build A Rocket Boy did not manage to produce a sufficiently refined version when it was released. The studio started to deploy patchsit will surely be able to limit the breakage. We will then have to redouble their efforts, because some players are already trying to ask for a Refund from PlayStation notably.
However, it is hard to believe in a rebirth worthy of a no man’s sky or a Cyberpunk 2077. In fact, a hard blow has just struck the Builds A Rocket Boy teams. Our colleagues from IGN were warned by a member of the studio who wanted to remain anonymous. They then publicly revealed that at least a hundred people would be threatened with dismissal. Faced with these revelations, the studio had no choice but to confirm the news in a press release with the media:
We confirm that we had to make the painful decision to inform our team of devoted workers of certain internal changes at Build A Rocket Boy. While we strive to reallocate the roles to the maximum of people affected by these changes, we unfortunately start a formal consultation process which could lead to layoffs. This decision was not taken lightly; We are committed to managing this process with transparency, equity and respect for all employees. We will provide more information to the team in the coming weeks.
The launch of Mindseye was a significant step for Build A Rocket Boy. But, we know that we still have a lot to do to develop our community in the coming years. The challenges we have faced only reinforced our determination. Although we are deeply saddened by the current decision and grateful to our incredible team, this change allows us to focus on the deployment of continuous updates and the optimization of Mindseye’s performance, while ensuring the long -term success of the future ambitions of Build A Rocket Boy.

Build A Rocket Boy is already looking to the future
With regard to the youth of the studio behind Mindseye and the problems already raised internally, it was only a matter of time before the cleaver fell. Being established in Edinburgh (Scotland), Build A Rocket Boy therefore launched a consultation following the legal procedure in the case of a dismissal plan for 100 or more people over a period of 90 days. Ultimately, the studio would separate froma third of its teams at least. We just don’t know who it will touch. Some branches in particular? Mainly the 200 employees abroad or the entire workforce? Only time will tell us.
However, the leaders of Build A Rocket Boy are already thinking in the future in their misfortune. Mark GerhardCo-PDG of Build A Rocket Boy, would have assured in an email to its teams that Mindseye will benefit from long -term follow -up Despite these decisions. The latest declarations with IGN therefore confirm these remarks. Furthermore, the studio already evokes the future, which coincides with the latest statements about a new game from a very well -known TV series.
On the other hand, the executives of Build A Rocket Boy does not provide precision on the support of employees. At a time when the video game industry collects dismissaleach new announcement of this kind is a real blow. Mindseye will therefore have cost both to the studio and its teams.
